Join the Micah Center

The Micah Center is gathering of Christians from all denominations who wish to seek justice, love, mercy, and walk humbly with God. You are encouraged to join the local movement to pray and advocate for change in our community. The “Just Lecture” series meetings are free and open to the public and take place the first Tuesday of every month from 7-8pm at Hope Reformed Church: 2010 Kalamazoo SE, Grand Rapids, 49507.

The first meeting of the year will be Tuesday, September 7 at 7pm. Dr. Nick Wolterstorff will be discussing “The Moral Significance of Poverty.”

Can You Survive a Month in Poverty?

You are invited to attend a Poverty Simulation on Sunday, August 29 at Providence CRC from 5-7:30pm! Participants role play the lives of various family profiles living in the state of poverty. This workshop is guaranteed to provide an understanding and give insight into life in poverty that many people in Kent County face. Volunteers share their real life stories of living in poverty and working with low-income families, while facilitators give resources and additional information for opportunities to respond.
