So, you answered the call to serve as a benevolence volunteer. Putting our Christian values to work to help others through difficult times seems like a natural progression, but what about the not so easy decisons? Finding out that a family has not made any utility payments and are now facing a shut-off if your congregation does not help them can be a difficult and stressful decision. With limited funds and so many requests, you want to be sure that what you do will make a difference for the future of this family. But what if there are children in the family? What factors do you consider in making your decision? How do you handle having to say no? Do you do something to help you cope with the stress of not being able to help?
